Mark Waters Has Passed Away

Mark Waters has passed away Sunday due to complications from COVID-19. He had contracted the virus last month, and had been under medical care since December 14.

One of the most giving and influential figures in the skateboard industry, Mark has worked at Woodward Skate Camp, Tum Yeto, Transword, Sole Tech, U.S.A. Skateboarding, and most recently as the Executive Director at Go Skateboarding Foundation; in our small world, every body is basically connected to Mark by three degrees of separation. His OC venue The Observatory has hosted countless bands and supported the skate community through special events (some of which The Berrics has been fortunate enough to attend). When people talk about a “pillar of the community,” well, that was Mark.

If you are able to help Mark’s family in any way, please consider donating to their GoFundMe page here.
