Patrik Wallner has worked diligently on his peripatetic Visualtraveling series for over 10 years, releasing his book The Eurasia Project last year. Visualtraveling reliably avoids the cliches of skate travel and concentrates more on absorbing the culture of each new land.
In “Down The Volga,” Wallner puts the spotlight on Kirill Korobkov, a skater who has guided and pushed through the ex-Soviet nations alongside the Visualtraveling team since the early days. Wallner documents their journey as they run through it—the Volga river, that is—to explore the unique Republics of Russia en route towards the Caspian Sea.
