RED BULL EXPLORES THE HISTORY OF LOS ANGELES SKATE CULTURE IN LATEST MINI-DOC

In the early 1950s, skateboarding was popularized in California… the rest is history.

“LA SKATE + MUSIC” is a short Red Bull documentary that gives a behind-the-scenes look at Los Angeles’s trendsetting skateboarding and music scene. Going beyond skateparks and street tricks, this piece (directed by Van Alpert) highlights the role music plays in cultivating a culture that allows the skate community to break barriers regardless of ethnicity or gender. Video features Chelsea Castro, Hesh, Illegal Civ, Anaiah Lei from The Bots, and the Red Bull skate team.
