‘GET USED TO IT’: SKATEBOARDING IN POST-APARTHEID SOUTH AFRICA

Gender inequality is a huge problem for women in South Africa, with danger lurking around every corner. In an effort to combat this, Skateistan (now celebrating its tenth year) provides a safe space where children can play, learn and develop through skateboarding and education programs. Get Used ToIt is a hopeful documentary, exploring how skateboarding is changing lives for women and girls in Jo’burg while also documenting the painful history of apartheid.
