Keith Hufnagel taught us all about power, style, and finesse with his approach to skateboarding, business, and life. His gift to all of us lives on with everything he created and we are all better people for the inspiration he gave us on and off the board. Ride In Peace HUF. Thank you we love you ♥️ #KeithHufnagel
It was confirmed today that pioneering NYC legend Keith Hufnagel has died at the age of 46. The devastating news surprised the skate world, and dozens of pros who knew Hufnagel personally posted their condolences on Instagram this afternoon.
Born in 1974, Hufnagel quickly became a notable skater in the NYC scene and emerged in the ’90s as one of the era’s most powerful and stylish skaters, at a time when technical trends weren’t exactly synonymous with “style.” Hufnagel’s gift for aesthetics helped make him a streetwear pioneer, with his brand HUF (born from his San Francisco retail store) becoming a worldwide success.
Hufnagel has influenced skateboarding immeasurably, and he was a friend to us here at The Berrics since the very beginning. Rest in peace, Keith—you will be missed.
