Magenta’s ‘L’Indian Express’ Makes Sense Of The Country’s Beautiful Chaos

Bordeaux’s Magenta Skateboards has always had a very distinctive and consistent brand identity—the combination of lo-fi in-your-face filming, marathon-length downhill lines, and jazzy world music has been lovingly emulated for years now. For the brand’s latest project, “L’Indian Express,” Soy Panday, Glen Fox, Antoine Jouguet, and Vivien Feil spent some time in India, skating the streets and stones of Pondicherry and Chennai.

Panday, whose full name is Sourya Prakash Panday, has an Indian father, and over the years he’s turned people on to the country’s special blend of spiritual magic and overpopulated chaos. In fact, he kind of steals the show in “L’Indian Express,” flowing through the unique environment like water.

“L’Indian Express” was filmed and edited by peripatetic videographer Patrik Wallner, for Push Periodical (the new issue features art by Magenta rider Fox).

Check out the brand’s extensive library of gems on their YT channel.… “Old Woops New Groove” is highly recommended.
