NIKE SB’S GERMAN RIDERS TAKE TRICKED-OUT VW & JANOSKI HARLEKIN EDITIONS FOR A SPIN

Place Skateboard Culture is a Berlin magazine that’s been in print since 2007, and in the past 12 years has been putting out themed issues (the most recent is LA-themed) and unique video content. Case in point: This collaboration project with SkateDeluxe and Nike SB for the Janoski Harlekin editions.

The mag enlisted local hotshots Denny Pham, Jan Henrik Kongstein, Peter Buikema, Leo Preisinger, and guest Hyun Kummer to drive around in the extremely rare VW Harlekin—of which the Janoski colorway got its design inspiration. (The original VW model was released in the ’90s in Tornado Red, Ginster Yellow, Pistachio Green, and Chagall Blue… thank you Wikipedia.) This VW Harlekin is sporting a Nike swoosh on the side doors, distinguishing it from the 2,000 or so Harlekins that are still Berlin drifting around Europe.

This is a sweet vehicle; the colorful video is even sweeter. And Pham is a German god who can do no wrong. Check out some of his work with The Berrics below:
