The month of August kicked off with a Pro surprise for Nora Vasconcellos, but her path to Pro has been a little unconventional, to say the least. A chance encounter with Welcome’s Jason Celaya several years ago led to a staff position at the nascent brand (still being run out of a garage, in classic upstart fashion), which then grew into an official summons to “the professional realm.” Nora is everywhere now—in equally high demand for her skating as for her affable personality—and we can’t say we’re surprised.
