Nyjah Huston Wins World Skateboarding Tour Rome 2023

The WST Street Skateboarding Rome 2023 Finals went down this past weekend! The story of the century is the WST Rome returning champ Nyjah Huston taking the gold once again! But the incredible story isn’t the fact that Nyjah won back-to-back WST Rome Championship stops in 2022 and now 2023, but the fact that Huston blew out his ACL, had surgery, rehabbed, and returned to competing only to take the top spot in the world without missing a beat. Not only did Nyjah win first, but he won it by a long shot, 14 points higher than the runner-up, leaving no room for a dramatic comeback from 2nd and 3rd place finishers Sora Shorai and Kelvin Hoefler.

While Nyjah takes the top honors in Men’s Street Skateboarding, it was the 14 year old Japanese Liz Akama who brought home the gold for Women’s Street Skateboarding. Liz barely nudged out 2nd place finisher Chloe Covall on her last attempt, with Oda Yumeka taking 3rd just ahead of Rayssa Leal.

Don’t take our word for it. Watch the full replay of the WST Street Skateboarding Rome 2023, above!
