Etnies’ Marana Slip XLT Is High-Tech & Low-Maintenance

etnies

Etnies’ latest iteration of the Marana is a high-tech, yet low-maintenance, workhorse built to withstand Ryan Sheckler‘s skating. The Marana Slip XLT continues the line’s tradition of impact-resistant elegance, without all the unnecessary things that get in the way—like laces.

The brand’s team—which includes Chris Joslin, Trevor McClung, Matt Berger, Aidan Campbell, Nick Garcia, and Nassim Lacchab—had set the wheels in motion for this latest Marana model by requesting a version that combined the original upper design with a three-times more durable Michelin outsole in a sleek slip-on silhouette. The Marana Slip XLT debuts in three colorways: Sheckler’s signature red/white colorway; Barney Page’s white/green/gum colorway; and a classic black/white.

The Marana Slip XLT retails at $79.99. You’ll want to get caught slippin’ in these—visit the brand’s store to buy your pair! To see these bad boys in action—and to see where he prefers to munch on his lunch—watch Sheckler’s ‘Day In The Life’ video here.

Etnies was started in 1986 with the simple goal of making shoes for skaters that are designed by skaters. Over the next 35 years, the brand has established itself as an innovator—not only in shoe design but in altruism as well, giving back to the community through shoe drives in Los Angeles (50,000 pairs and counting) and by planting over 2 million trees in the rainforest.

We have worked with Etnies since the beginning of The Berrics in 2007 (when the brand was just 21 years old). Watch our “EST.” documentary series that we did with the brand in 2016, and some of our Album coverage, below:
