RVCA’s ‘Hammerhead Show’ Honored Christian Hosoi’s Timeless Pro Model

Christian Hosoi‘s original “Hammerhead” design is a classic. The game-changing shape and artwork have survived several apocalyptic eras of skateboarding fashion—with the legendary pro experiencing his own personal crises along the way—only to brush the dust off their shoulders and say, “What’s next?”

Hosoi’s apparel sponsor RVCA recognizes the outsized influence of the Hammerhead, and in December the brand held the RVCAloha 2019 art exhibition in Honolulu, Hawaii, to honor the design. All of the artwork in the show was inspired by Hosoi’s career, and Keith Haring’s personalized 1986 Hammerhead deck was a particular high point. You could say that RVCA nailed the Hammerhead show.
