WATCH LUAN OLIVEIRA SKATE HIS NIKE SB JANOSKI COLORWAY WITH THE MATRIZ BOYS
Battle At The Berrics Champion Luan Oliveira‘s rise to prominence as one of the world’s top skaters all started at his local plaza in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Praça da Matriz had such a huge role in shaping Oliveira’s approach to skating that he dedicated his new Nike SB Janoski Zoom slipon colorway to the spot. (Oliveira’s monster pop was born of necessity: these park benches are no joke!)
The camo colorway was a collab with Matriz skateshop, and there are some cool details paying homage to the plaza: an outline of one of the spot’s dog statues is on the midsole; the insole features the plaza’s centerpiece statue, along with “Luan O.”
Luan Oliveira, Cezar Gordo, Lucas Rabelo and crew take it back to where it all started in this video. The Nike SB Zoom Janoski Slip RM “Matriz” released on Saturday, May 11, at Matriz shops and will be available Saturday, May 18, on nike.com.
