Maurio McCoy Shares His Optimistic Olympics Outlook With NPR

Team U.S.A.’s Maurio McCoy went from elated to deflated within the short span of several months when the Olympics called for a postponement to this year’s Summer Games. He shares what was going on through his mind when he heard the news, and how he is looking at the glass half-full, in a recent feature from National Public Radio‘s ‘All Things Considered’ which aired over the weekend.

“I think the good thing that came out of this was it bought more time for them to really figure out like, Okay, how can we have this whole process be a little less stressful for the athletes?” McCoy says, “A lot more fair and give everyone a chance to do their best and whoever does their best to make it to Tokyo?” Listen to the piece below, detailing the atmosphere within Team U.S.A. prior to the pandemic, below:
