Nike Unveils Tokyo 2020 Olympics Skateboarding Uniforms

Nike has officially revealed what every country’s skateboarders will be rocking in this summer’s Olympic Games. Design site Dezeen posted several country’s looks yesterday, all created by renowned artist Piet Parra (whom Nike SB has worked with for collabs in the past) with input from Sean Malto, and they are definitely not what you would expect. Gone are the tired flag colorblocking and form-fitting gear that makes your thighs chafe just by looking at it; Nike’s new uniforms represent skateboarding’s individuality, with each “federation” getting its own voice and style (sometimes even paying homage to a country’s unique sporting history, like Brazil’s soccer-inspired uniforms). France, in particular, has a dope jumpsuit look that already has us rooting for them.

Another twist: Nike is committed to using 100% recycled polyester in these uniforms (but does it breathe?), reminding us that when it comes to the planet we should play for keeps. You can review a few of the looks below, and read more about the looks in this interview with Parra at the Nike blog:
